School Swimming

Helping Lincolnshire schools achieve National Curriculum expectations for swimming

Why is School Swimming so Important?

According to Swim England’s annual School Swimming and Water Safety Survey, it is estimated that approximately 1 in 4 children leave primary school in England every year without being able to swim 25 meters. This means that over a child’s primary school years, the total number of children who leave primary school without being able to swim 25 meters could be around 1 million. Children are at risk of missing out on the fun and healthy benefits of swimming and endangering their lives by not being able to swim safely.

At JB, we want to change that. Our team of experienced staff deliver weekly swimming lessons to a large number of our partner primary schools at different pools across Lincolnshire. Our expertise within primary education, coupled with our extensive swimming knowledge enables us to deliver structured, progressive and challenging lessons, with pupil attainment and engagement being our main priorities.

Pupil progress is assessed at the end of each term, with all data provided to schools to evidence in their annual impact reports.

If you would like to discuss options for your school swimming with a member of our swimming team, please contact us.

We recently got the call from OFSTED informing us that they would be performing a deep dive into our PE curriculum. JB Sports very forthcoming with offering support in our preparation. Within an hour, we had an in depth discussion with the curriculum lead at JB Sports, who was fantastic.  On the day itself, we felt confident as a team in answering questions thrown at us by OFSTED which was helped without question by the support of the JB Sports staff and their curriculum leaders.
