Each partner primary school will receive 2 PE Health Checks within the academic year. These checks will focus on the intent, implementation, and impact of PESSPA within your school, and will cover areas such as:

  • PE vision
  • Curriculum mapping
  • Skills progression document
  • Termly schemes of work
  • National curriculum review
  • Whole school physical activity initiatives • CPD
  • Assessment process
  •  Evaluating the impact

On Demand PE Deep Dive

In addition to our PE Health Checks, we will also be offering reassurance in the event of a PE deep dive. Our Curriculum Management team will be available on demand to answer any questions, or offer any advice to aid preparation for an imminent Ofsted visit. The On Demand PE Deep Dive covers questions that an inspector would be likely to ask, as well as discussing the learning maps and planning across all Key Stages of the PE curriculum.

How this support has helped other PE Co-ordinators

We recently got the call from OFSTED informing us that they would be performing a deep dive into our PE curriculum. Once we made JB Sports aware of what was happening, they were very forthcoming with offering support and help in our preparation. Within an hour, we had an in depth discussion with the curriculum lead at JB Sports, who was fantastic. He talked through what to expect on the day and supported us with any queries we had. On top of that, he informed us that he would be available to speak to atany point that night and into the morning of our inspection day. All assessments were sent to PE leads the day
of the call and contact was made with our sports coach who delivers lessons within school. On
the day itself, we felt confident as a team in answering questions thrown at us by OFSTED
- which was helped without question by the support of the JB Sports staff and their curriculum leaders.
