Playleader Award

Introducing Children to Leadership

A Fun and Flexible Programme then Will Build Confidence and Develop Leadership Skills

The Playleader Award is designed for upper KS2 children. The course will equip the pupils to lead structured play at lunchtimes, which increase physical activity levels and decrease incidents of poor behaviour.

The award is a very effective way to provide children with a level of responsibility, as well as successfully integrating all age groups within the school. A comprehensive resource pack is provided for the school that includes all the activities the children have learnt.
To support the structured delivery at playtimes, JB staff members will oversee the delivery and aid the pupils who have completed the award when they are leading games and activities. JB will create an effective rota system so that all children who completed the course get the opportunity to deliver on certain days and playtimes, but still get the opportunity to engage with other pupils and their own friendship groups during playtimes when they are not delivering.

JB will fully coordinate the successful running of the lunchtime activities along with the students involved. No input is required from lunchtime supervisors or other staff members, which ensures that the rest of the playground can be supervised effectively.
The playleader can be delivered as a stand alone course.

We recently got the call from OFSTED informing us that they would be performing a deep dive into our PE curriculum. JB Sports very forthcoming with offering support in our preparation. Within an hour, we had an in depth discussion with the curriculum lead at JB Sports, who was fantastic.  On the day itself, we felt confident as a team in answering questions thrown at us by OFSTED which was helped without question by the support of the JB Sports staff and their curriculum leaders.
