A specialist programme designed to raise the awareness amongst primary school children of the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle. The programme is designed in two parts. The first is a healthy lifestyle scheme of work that highlights the benefits of exercise and healthy eating and is a combination of both classroom work and practical delivery. The second part of the programme is a scheme of work that breaks down the components of fitness and how the body works. These are practical sessions that can both measure and hopefully improve upon the current performance levels of the students. The programme is delivered over a half term and both parts of the programme can be delivered, or either of the two parts can be selected and delivered individually.
