A week in the life of Mr Johnson;
Monday morning started with an observation of Mr Shaw at Spilsby Primary School. He delivered a brilliant Hockey session to a very good year 6 class with the assistance of Mr O’Leary. I was then at Horncastle Primary school in the afternoon for staff CPD with two of the year 5 classes, followed by a very busy tournament week at our Football academy to finish the first term. Well done to all players who attend, big improvements all round, especially the younger groups.
Tuesday started with the final swimming session of the term for 3 of our schools and we treated them to a much deserved fun splash to reward them for their hard work all term! I then went, from the pool across to Bucknall Primary School to deliver their P.E for the afternoon, followed by an after school club.
Wednesday morning, I was working through my pupil assessments for term 1, before going to St Lawrence to deliver to a KS2 class in the morning. I then delivered a lunch time club for the KS1 pupils, before heading across the school field to deliver lunchtime activities at Horncastle Primary with the assistance of 3 ‘Playground Pals’. I still found the time to squeeze in a lovely and much needed chicken roast dinner back at St Lawrence before my afternoon Tag Rugby session with the year 11’s.
Thursday morning started at St Bernard’s in Louth where I work with small groups to improve their swimming ability in the swimming pool that they have on site. The improvement in the children’s water confidence and basic strokes has been brilliant and some of the children will now be able to access the pool at the Meridian in future. Thursday afternoon I was at Kirkby on Bain delivering the last football sessions of the term to Oak and willow class, before heading for a curry with all the staff for our end of term get together to celebrate what has been a fantastic return to curriculum delivery in term 1.
The term finished back at St Lawrence today, with a full days delivery working with two of the KS3 classes and a KS2 class in the afternoon. Roll on half term where myself and Mr Brown will spend the week working on a number of exciting new services that we will soon be offering to our schools. We will also be running a number of holiday camps throughout the week, which are booking up nicely. Hopefully the weather holds out!!
