A week in the life of Mr Brown

October 19, 2016 10:03 am

A week in the life of Mr Brown. My week started with a meeting to discuss the progress of our new website. I then travelled to Willoughby to deliver Gymnastics to two classes and help up skill their teacher’s knowledge of Gym. We had great fun exploring the wall bars and also created sequences including jumping and landing, bridges, travelling at different levels and mirroring. We also had a great afterschool cricket club playing Scatterball. My Monday ended with a very busy football academy at HTFC with more than 60 children in attendance. I was busy planning my lessons for the rest of the week on Tuesday morning before going to Kirkby On Bain primary to deliver some lunch time activities followed by more gymnastics and then a great KS 1 football afterschool club. On Wednesday morning myself and Mr Johnson were busy planning some really exciting new initiatives which will be coming out very soon. I then had a very wet afternoon at Sibsey, despite the weather, we persevered outside with our KS2 basketball lessons and showed great teamwork, which was the JB values of the lesson, playing some small sided matches. On Thursday morning, I went to Horncastle Primary school to observe an outstanding lesson by Mr Bent. I then travelled over to Holy Trinity (with a little bit of singing in the car) for some catching and throwing with KS1 and fielding with year 3/4. I also had another great KS1 football club, the children were excellent despite the rainy conditions, the children seemed to embrace the rain and played with a smile. I travelled over to Carre’s grammar school on Friday morning (yes – singing again) to watch the School games Semi Final and finals. Kirkby On Bain managed to progress from our small school cluster and played with a real team spirit and determination. Friday afternoon I was back at Holy Trinity for some more KS 1 catching and throwing and some Cricket matches for the yr 5/6, where the children showed me everything they have studied this term.
It has been a great week, look forward to a rest this week before we start again on Monday.
Next Friday will be ‘A week in the life of Mr Johnson’
